Over the next ten years, Santee faces significant infrastructure challenges. The city needs major road improvements, critical infrastructure investments, and three new fire stations to help maintain response times and protect lives and property. These needs are real, and they are not going away.
A local sales tax also ensures that the many visitors who shop in Santee contribute alongside residents, helping to fund improvements that benefit the entire community.
Most importantly, the revenue stays local and can only be used to address local priorities
The cost of doing nothing is NOT zero. Every year that major projects are delayed, construction costs increase, infrastructure continues to deteriorate, and future solutions become more expensive.
Santee has always been a community that plans ahead rather than waiting for problems to become crises.
